To commemorate the forthcoming cinema release of Hellboy II: The Golden Army, helmed by Guillermo Del Toro ('Pan's Labyrinth') and based on the Dark Horse comic book by the legendary Mike Mignola, adidas Originals have teamed up with the Oregon-based publisher after the success of their 2006 adicolor collaboration, as well as Universal Studios themselves to generate special makeups of classic designs.
Forum Mid - Universal
Designed in association with Universal Studios, with a possible onscreen appearance, these Forum Mids take the court standard and mix the appropriate trio of gold, black and white. Hellboy lettering is emblazed across the Velcro strap, with an image of Ron Perlman as the titular demonic anti-hero on the outsole and footbed all presented in specially designed packaging.
Completing the duo, and created in partnership with Dark Horse themselves, this black patent leather Stan Smith Mid takes the bestselling 'pimple' soled silhouette and embellishes it with an exclusive image of Hellboy from Mignola himself. It again, manages to retain the aesthetic of both film and publication. Pumped with extra details on the inner and outer sole, a collection of three extra footbeds, Hellboy lace jewels, a mini-comic and unique tongue branding, the Stan Smith is finished with a box created exclusively for this three-way collaboration. The Hellboy Plan II pack drops this July in very limited numbers at adidas Originals stores globally.
